Brownfield Operations Readiness Training Course

The Brownfield Operations Readiness Training Course, within the Operations Readiness and Assurance Training courses specialisation and the Engineering maintenance and operation category, provides practical knowledge and structured approaches for preparing existing industrial facilities for safe, reliable, and efficient operational changes. The course focuses on Brownfield Readiness, covering operational planning, asset interfaces, risk management, work coordination, commissioning preparation, and transition activities within live or established facilities.

Participants will explore how to manage operational readiness during shutdowns, revamps, plant modifications, commissioning, and other brownfield projects where existing assets and ongoing operations create additional challenges. The programme develops the ability to assess readiness, coordinate stakeholders, control operational risks, verify procedures, and support a smooth transition from project activities to stable operations while maintaining safety, reliability, and business continuity.

By the end of the course, participants will be able to:

• Understand the principles and importance of Brownfield Readiness in existing facilities.
• Develop effective operational readiness strategies for brownfield projects.
• Identify operational risks associated with modifications to existing assets and systems.
• Plan readiness activities for shutdowns, revamps, and plant modifications.
• Strengthen coordination between engineering, maintenance, construction, commissioning, and operations teams.
• Assess workforce, procedures, systems, equipment, and documentation readiness.
• Develop effective commissioning and start-up readiness plans.
• Apply structured readiness reviews, assurance processes, and operational acceptance criteria.
• Improve handover and transition from project execution to operational control.
• Support safe, reliable, and efficient facility operation following modifications.
