Container Terminal Operations and Port Productivity Training Course

A vessel can arrive on schedule and still sit at berth far longer than it should, not because of anything happening at sea, but because of decisions made on land — how the berth was allocated, how the yard was planned, how cranes were sequenced against the discharge and load plan. Container Terminal Operations is the discipline that determines whether a terminal moves cargo efficiently or quietly becomes the bottleneck an entire shipping network gets blamed for. The Container Terminal Planning and Operations Training Course, is built for professionals responsible for keeping vessels, yards, and cargo moving without unnecessary delay.

This course treats terminal performance as the product of interconnected planning decisions, not isolated operational tasks. Participants explore how berth allocation decisions ripple through vessel turnaround time and terminal congestion, how yard planning affects container retrieval speed and space utilisation, and how crane productivity is genuinely measured and improved without simply working equipment harder. The course also covers container handling in practice — the sequencing and coordination that determines whether cargo flows smoothly or backs up at the worst possible moment. Participants leave with a practical, operationally grounded understanding of container terminal management they can apply directly to berth planning, yard strategy, and productivity decisions.

By the end of the course, participants will be able to:
